Biography
Rocco Mazzola, a young talent in Italian motorsport, was born in Potenza on September 24, 2005. His passion for racing was sparked by a defining moment: when his father took him to watch an Italian Gran Turismo Championship race in Misano. The sound of the cars, the smell of fuel and tires, and the adrenaline of competition left a lasting impression on him. From that moment on, Rocco knew that his place was on the track.
Shortly after, at just 8 years old, he began kart racing, embarking on a journey of technical and competitive development that would quickly lead him to achieve major national milestones.
In 2019, after seasons of experience and dedication, he won the ROK Cup Italy in the Junior category, confirming his speed, consistency, and racecraft. The following year, at just 15 years old, he stepped up to the X30 Senior category, winning the Coppa Italia and proving himself competitive even against more experienced drivers.
The 2021 season marked his transition into car racing: Rocco made his debut in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, entering the world of circuit racing and high-performance cars for the first time. He concluded the season with outstanding results: Italian Rookie Champion, 4th among Under-25 drivers, and 6th overall — a debut that did not go unnoticed.
In 2022, he joined the Italian Gran Turismo Championship with the Easy Race team, driving the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo. It was a memorable season in which he claimed both the GT Cup Sprint PRO-AM Italian Championship and the GT Cup Endurance PRO-AM Italian Championship, securing a double title that established him as one of the series’ leading drivers.
The 2023 season saw him move up to a higher category, driving the Ferrari 488 GT3 for Best Lap. In a highly competitive championship, Rocco finished 6th in the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship in the GT3 PRO-AM class, gaining valuable experience with one of the most competitive GT cars.
In 2024, he joined the prestigious Tresor Audi Sport Italia team, driving the Audi R8 LMS. The season was intense and full of battles: he finished 4th overall in the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship and achieved 2nd place in the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship, confirming his steady progression and adaptability to new challenges.
In the same year, he also competed in the 6 Hours of Jeddah, an international endurance race, where he secured a strong 4th place in the Silver category.
The 2025 season begins with new ambitions: Rocco races for Tresor Attempto Racing, once again at the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II, competing in both the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance and Sprint Championships.
